I’m reminded of Charlie Hebdo shooting in 2015. This year I heard a program on This American Life about comedians in Syria post-Bashar al-Assad under the rebels government of Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS). Comedy is not a subject I mentally associate with Muslims in the Middle East.
