The title and article are missing a major component, Israel. What long-term assurances will the world get that they won't unilaterally reignite hostility? They see this as an existential issue, so they will also need assurances that Iran will not continue to seek their destruction.

The western analyst and thinkers don't yet understand what is the story the makes this current governance stand. You can't understand something when your mental model doesn't have the depth for it it. The author still thinks people are rallying around the flag when the country being attacked has a thousand years of narrative about the oppression and the oppressed. It goes to show the author doesn't understand what is happening and this is all just..in hindsight.
