Work in USA for exposure to good tail outcomes, have Aus citizenship as a refuge from v. bad tail outcomes.

While it doesn't represent modern war at all, of course, I've always enjoyed the knowledge that Australia was bombed very little during WW2 despite "neighboring" the Axis Japan simply because it was too far away and planes of the era could not reach it. The only capital city that saw aerial warfare was Darwin because it's the only one on the north coast.
