This is going to be the good side of the RAM supply crunch, it is forcing developers to be a bit more mindful of how all this stuff gets used. We could be about to have a Windows Vista to Win 7 moment. Under the hood Win 7 was largely just Vista cleaned up to be more processor and memory efficient. And it is considered one of the best MS ever shipped. Hopefully, they go back to their past and take this route.
