apple setting an example that will allow all others to follow. They normalized an app store removing the ability for owners of iphones to install their own software. and google did the same. they normalized ios 7 with buttons that don't look like buttons, hidden ui elements you have to swipe around to get to, and low contrast/thin font look and feel that is harder to see. And then tesla did the same thing with their car interfaces, but in a moving car. If they do this, meta's camera glasses will be normalized and our society will suffer with all the follow-ons.

Nothing like plugging in something transmitting full video via Bluetooth next to my brain. Can't wait for the ear cancer!

Actual source: https://www.macrumors.com/2026/08/17/camera-equipped-airpods... (This dexerto is just a Yahoo News type place that says "according to reporting by xyz...") Anyways, this is horrible. Even if Apple says they remain private on private cloud with private AI ... it's still someone recording everything at all times. Surprised that they would do this. And of course this normalizes recording everything further, for companies without such privacy-forward reputations (Meta and company). Edit: perhaps it will be only "as requested" similar to Siri? Which, if you take them at their word, isn't always listening. So it's hopefully not capable of just "always recording".
