Never connect a smart TV to the internet. Use it as a dumb screen with your choice of media device.

Not long until these TVs start partnering with Amazon and other providers to send traffic automatically through near-by devices like smart speakers, disconnecting will be impossible. Vast majority won't know or care. The way this gets fixed is laws not workarounds unfortunately.
