It's vital to note the driving force behind this: religious extremism. These people think they are chosen by God to rule over everyone else based on their personal interpretations of scripture. These people are dangerous and their thirst for power has them willing to "win at any cost". For all of those here who are of faith but "the good kind", not that even that level of participation helps justify their actions as "holy", and therefore legitimate.
