Yes it’s a despicable regime, but wiping out a “whole civilization” implies all of the innocent people who have done nothing other than having had the misfortune of being born there. Europeans already see the USA as no longer a trustworthy partner. Greenland, abandoning NATO, undermining Ukraine will do that. Asians no longer see the USA as a viable alternative to China. Canada and others talk about alliances between Middle Powers as the future. The damage to America’s international reputation is devastating.
