Par for the course when it comes to US law enforcement and the government. This mentality has, in varying degrees, caused anything from slavery, to lung cancer from tobacco, to black lung in coalminers, and mental health problem with children using social media. If it generates revenue, thus taxes, then fuck it: let it be. That's their mentality.
