You mean besides the one that the electorate dug for it in 2024?

Oh no, the military is training to be a military. What is this Jade Helm 2.0?

Everyone on social media seems to be HUNTING for signs that the powers that be are prepping for the end of the world.

Often when seeing stories like this, there's some implication that the training is due to a planned operation or coming scenario. Yet my employer will regularly make me do trainings for all kinds of things that I know we don't plan to do, from system compromise to fire drills. Yet I've never seen a news story reporting that, for instance, a US bank is drilling for a systems breach that compromises customer accounts, even though I'm sure they do it. It's funny that there are some things we may fret about in the news yet in our personal lives we know them to not be a big deal.

Should a large scale conflict between the United States and another power break out, and one that is particularly bloody and challenging for American forces to win it will be interesting to see how the American military and media/tech companies deal with the flow of graphic footage from the battlefront. I've heard it said that the broadcasting of graphic battle footage on the nightly news during the Vietnam war played a large role in the public losing support for that conflict and that the US government learned from this and provided a much more sanitary and managed view of the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and again Iraq during the 1990s and 2000s. From what I've seen on subreddits like /r/combatfootage/ or /r/credibledefense/ that doesn't seem to be possible anymore. There's a tremendous amount of video from the conflicts in Syria, Sudan, and Ukraine and the administrators and moderators of these places seem to allow the distribution and discussion of these videos. Right now it's pretty common to see Ukrainian and their supporters refer to Russians as "orcs" (I'm assuming Russians say similar things about the Ukrainians on social media too) with little to no push back from admins or moderators despite this being blatantly dehumanizing language which is often against the rules in these online forums. I predict that moderators will expose further biases and double standards towards Americans should graphic videos of American soldiers dying becomes a standard feature of our social media landscape and will punish people for this kind of disparaging commentary about invading American soldiers.

You guys don’t seem to see this, but this is Kegseth Foxnews 101 paired with a pinch of Pentagon magic. They push a narrative into the Pentagon near media, that can totally be misunderstood by the average citizen as preparation for a bigger war / boots on the ground, together with the president’s martial war rhetoric shortly before the election to manipulate the voting decision in the election that is conveniently in a few days. Right-wing populists exploit people's existential anxieties by peddling crisis narratives. Crisis narratives and securitisation “can temporarily strip individuals of their presumed biographical continuity, sparking episodes of anxiety and ontological insecurity” (Homolar and Scholz 2019, p. 356). ( https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/09557571.2019.1... ) This is just a more subtle way of trying to steal an election. It’s kinda concerning, not more than Kegseth preaching to the troops about end times or pumping them full of testosterone, but at least the upper echelons of the Pentagon seem to be ok with meddling with a US Election like this. Not good.
