So the brilliant “lower the price of gas before midterms” plan is to seize Iranian oil tankers, which will then be unable to deliver oil to anyone. Spend $115 billion on a war to seize an oil tanker with $150 million worth of cargo…it’s the art of the deal, folks. Never mind the fact that this plan falls apart completely if Iran says “yeah we’re gonna scuttle any vessel you approach and trigger an environmental crisis with an oil spill you’ll be on the hook to clean up.” In classic Donald Trump fashion, if he doesn’t get what he wants, he throws bologna at the wall in the court system. This is of course known to work super well in geopolitics when you’re losing a physical war against your defendant. Gee, I wonder if anyone thought to sue Genghis Khan! It would be incredibly stale and redundant if I pointed out that the MAGA GOP is the dumbest government of all time. We’re going to need one of those extra long ultra-specific German words to describe the galactic stupidity of the people in charge of our government.
