I hope that train rides get more and more popular and especially cheaper. At the moment I am looking at a 10 hour car-trip to the mountains in Switzerland. The train trip would be the same. The only sad part about it is that it would cost me and my family around 900 Euro's. If we would calculate the car trip it would be around 242 Euro. In the train I can read, chill, watch out the window, play board games with my children,... In the car I need to pay attention to the road, my children are hooked to a tablet or annoyed and bored. But to go to the UK with the train it is a no-brainer. 2 hour trip to arrive in the middle of London, Paris, Amsterdam,... for 200 Euro's for the whole family. It really impacts our choice of vacations.
