Nice, I was a fan of the more experimental design they used for the original so it's nice to see that brought to its logical conclusion here. Dual sticks, dual trackpads, back buttons, and good battery life... this will be fun to use.

I like my OG Steam Controller and I like the Steam Deck, SC2 is a no-brainer for me.

My main gripe with both the OG and this iteration is how featureless it's reported to be without the heavyweight steam client running - just basic trackpad+desktop mappings - no gamepad emulation for platforms that expect a gamepad/joystick but where you can't or don't wish to run steam. We all a love valve but any HID peripheral requiring logins and a mandatory storefront client should leave a sour taste, even if you're 100% in on the value add. Steam Input is fantastic I just hope the fallback behaviour is configurable with a FW update or something.
