I've found that a lot of job applications these days required a LinkedIn URL, but they often don't validate that it is actually a LinkedIn URL. So, feel free to use this instead. I considered getting idontuselinked.in, but Porkbun let me know that the Indian registrar can be difficult to work with. I could be convinced to get it as well.

Beautiful bit of malicious compliance. One caveat worth flagging for anyone tempted to use it: a lot of ATS systems parse the domain on submit, so depending on the employer you might get auto-filtered before a human ever sees the application. Works best as a signal to companies you'd actually want to work for — a built-in bozo filter for the hiring side. And yes, please get idontuselinked.in. The .in TLD is annoying but the pun earns it.

Had one of the worst experiences with Linkedin support about my account seemingly getting flagged that I wrote an whole article about it ( https://smileplease.mataroa.blog/blog/linkedin/ ) This is a good project but I genuinely feel like we might need better alternatives than Linkedin. Linkedin is nightmare (recently their spying on browser extensions etc. also raises some concerns) > I considered getting idontuselinked.in, but Porkbun let me know that the Indian registrar can be difficult to work with. I could be convinced to get it as well. I am Indian. Do you feel as if the .in domain Indian registrar is hard to work with as in asking for an Indian citizen to own the domain?

Using LinkedIn for job hunting was miserable. All I wanted was to find a job, but it kept trying to shovel me to their social media and learning videos. Plus, half the positions didn't even seem real. The "quick application" feature never got me anywhere. I really don't like that companies are expecting you to have LinkedIn, as if it's some sort of ID badge you gotta wear. That gives way too much power to one website; they could start implementing some very shady tactics without resistance (and I'm sure they already have). So thank you for this website. My experience going there was better than my entire time on the real thing!

Gives hiring managers an easy excuse to reject your application though, far majority are getting too many people in their pipeline. I personally think it's one convenient way of checking someone is who they say they are; solving yet another issue in hiring.
