I think this is hella cool but the models in question aren’t really powered for anything meaningful, right? The cool thing is the Oxford nanopore tech that allows you to desktop sequence your DNA. Also, I get why the DNA privacy angle is important to many but I think it would be cool if we could share more information so we could study ourselves at scale. There are a lot of us in All of Us and Personal Genome Project and so on but a nice longitudinal database covering our lives would be fantastic. Perhaps in the future we could eliminate so many diseases and create generally healthier kids using this knowledge. I’m somewhat envious of the people covered in the UK Biobank (though perhaps the TW Biobank will add some new color) so I hope we get more people in the machine and find out more about our collective self. Here’s me: https://viz.roshangeorge.dev/roshan-genvue/ If you’d like to try the data path of the post without sequencing your DNA you can play around with my VCF here: https://my.pgp-hms.org/profile/hu81A8CC

> Your genome is the most private data you will ever have. You probably shouldn’t let it leave your house. im probably going to publish mine you can already grab it by following me for a day and picking up a stray hair?
