Yeah, it looks like he mixed up the responses from the study group and this resulted in multiple errors in the published version. But it is also hard to take this seriously when many of these "concerned colleagues" openly entertain racist ideologies and oppose black professors on campus.

Very sad to see a place famed for academic brilliance being taken in by a charlatan. Very embarrassing

this is one of those stories where everyone involved is a terrible person. we have a professor who stole others work to get promoted (but also donated millions to good causes), a law firm he hired that abuses libel law to scare journalists out of telling the truth, and the people who exposed him are racists who probably only care about this because hes black and they want to imply that all black or left wing academics should be suspected of fraud. its pretty telling that most of the direct quotes in the article are about Ardays race or political views, and the people who actually did the investigation dont mention race at all.
