I think they might have left after terrible performance of gemini 3.5 pro's internal benchmarks and they might have known that google doesn't have what it takes to beat Anthropic speed just a theory tho.

Is Anthropic working on their own silicon? Access to smart people and hardware to run my code on would be my priorities. If my employer made me switch to some weird thing the rest of the industry doesn't use (TPUs), well, I'd suck it up and adapt, but at some level, I wouldn't be entirely happy with it.
