You may recall the incident a few years back when the regulators, whose job is to protect the coastline, denied SpaceX a permit to launch more times per year based on his political statements, weaponizing their government power against someone with a minority political opinion.

California seems to be infested with bureaucrats, advisory boards, committees and commissions who have the goal of preventing human civilization.

For once, the coastal commission isn't above the law. I doubt this will humble them, but at least it means if you have a few billion dollars, you might be able to get something through, in their jurisdiction.
