the district repeatedly denied enrollment after citing license plate recognition data that it said showed her vehicle appearing overnight at Chicago addresses Every bit of surveillance that can be leveraged against us, will be eventually. The drive to surveil us has a lot of overlap with addiction.

Why is a school district spending huge amounts of money on this software - why does it even care where the students are? And secondly, why are they violating the privacy of students and parents? This is outrageous.

Good. Too many people are willing to do insane shit like renting a house and leaving it empty just to get their kid in a school they don’t live near.

The real problem is that plates disclose any information. It was a useful fearure 30 years ago. Like for example what business do people have learning how new your car is? Some even buy a new car to avoid the badge of shame. Why do i need to know when your registration expires?
