This is useful. I use a similar setup to convert online articles worth understanding in depth into a standardized, Tufte-like format to print in my preferred font/size/spacing and to leave the right-hand 40% of the page blank for making handwritten notes. When I wanted to try and design a printable static site, I stumbled over the fact that it's not possible to do automatic page numbers (including total page count) with CSS. Settled on using https://pagedjs.org/
