Whenever I see posts like this I'm always surprised to see these people are still using Chrome. I agree it's another user hostile move by Chrome, but if this is a big deal to you then how have you tolerated Chrome up until now? Maybe it's a work requirement.

This didn't happen for me, apparently because I already had "Show Gemini in Chrome in Mac menu bar and turn on keyboard shortcut" disabled.
