Judges and law enforcement officials who let criminals go like this should be made to answer why. This seems to be becoming more and more commonplace.

Some key points: > Yuan decided to install a small camera at her desk. > The camera captured a co-worker, David Xu, pouring a substance into her water bottle. > Testing later identified the substance as cadmium, a toxic chemical. > Xu was charged with premeditated attempted murder in 2019. > In a plea agreement, he pleaded guilty to poisoning and received two years of probation. > Almost ten years after, Yuan said she continues to experience health issues after ingesting the chemical for more than a year and is able to work only part time. > She said she requested $500,000 in restitution, but received $7,000.

This is unfathomable. The criminal leniency is one thing, but how did she only get $7k in restitution. I gotta imagine the civil ruling would be much more severe than that.

That as the story tells it is fubab ... I knew the US legal system is far from balanced ... but catching someone red handed trying to kill someone ... I guess at some point if this story ever gets traction there will be a judge and some prosecutors in the hot seat, but often true justice doesn't prevail.
