Oh never knew the name Bananaquit. We call them "barika hel" (yellow belly) in Papiamentu or Suikerdiefje (lil' sugar thief) in Dutch.

The Morepork is named after the sound it makes, you can listen to it here, https://www.nzbirdsonline.org.nz/species/morepork . OTOH some other birds named after their call like the Hadada sound nothing like it.
